6 Strategies to Stay Motivated
Success requires work, patience, and motivation. Motivation is what keeps someone going despite all the hardships and challenges that the road to success can present. Lack of motivation causes some people to quit the journey.
Therefore, it is crucial to maintain a high level of motivation that can propel you to overcome any challenges that come up.
Below, I have listed 6 strategies or methods that you can utilize to maintain your motivation. You do not have to utilize all 6... if one or two of are sufficient, then great!
Reading
Reading can be inspirational as well as motivational. It's a form of learning, research, relaxation, entertainment, and even training. Reading up on your desired goals can be motivational. For example, if your goal is to get in shape, you may subscribe to a fitness magazine, which can keep you motivated and focused when you suffer from a craving. The articles and pictures will remind you of the importance of your goal, and will keep you motivated to stay true to your goal.
Listening
Listening is a lot like reading. But instead of being tied to a book, or a computer screen, you can listen to motivational recordings just about anywhere. If you have an mp3 player, for example, you can carry an audio clip that reminds you of your goal, which will help you stay motivated. If you spend quite a bit of time in your car during commutes, then make sure you keep an audiobook that will keep you focused and motivated in the car.
Affirmation
Affirmation is a great strategy to stay motivated. Your brain believes what you tell it, so if you convince your brain of something, it will act accordingly. When you believe strongly in something, affirmation can help you rely on your brain power to staying focused on your goal and keep you motivated. By the way, affirmation does not necessarily mean that you have to stand in front of the mirror and keep repeating a phrase... it simply means that you keep reminding yourself of the reason or the importance of something to you.
Visualization
This is an extremely powerful way to stay motivated. If, in your head, you can see the outcome or the goal, a lot of times it will motivate you to keep going despite the challenges that come up.
Negativity
Negativity is all around us; a lot of people try to bring you down, prove you wrong, and try to convince you that it can't be done. While it's important avoid negative people to remain confident, focused, and motivated, sometimes you can feed your motivation with others' negativity. How? You will keep going to succeed to prove them wrong! Of course you have to be careful that: 1) you're not pursuing your goal for the wrong reason (i.e. just to prove them wrong), and 2) you do not want their negativity to rub off on you. If you're careful, people's negativity and skepticism can motivate you to keep going.
Remember
Remembering why you're doing what you're doing is a great way to stay motivated. If you're building wealth to give your family things they never dreamed possible. just remembering that fact can motivate and charge up your drive to work harder. As time goes on, you will be more driven the more you remember your reasons.
A tremendous amount of motivation is already within you. When you get down or when you face challenges, you just have to know how to tap into your motivation to help you keep going.
